Mechanical Engineering
A Mossop Engineering & Agricultural Services Ltd. can provide mechanical engineering support throughout the full project lifecycle, from determination of functional requirements, option selection and development through to design for manufacture and installation.
We can also undertake engineering substantiation, which is the process of proving, with enough evidence, that a proposed design or industrial process is both fit for purpose and is inherently safe.
Project Management
We have a proven record of successfully managing projects; our project management capability can initiate, plan, execute, control and closeout work to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria.
An important part of any project is the definition of the baseline, this includes, but is not limited to, the scope, schedule and cost. The baseline should be agreed with the employer; in essence, the baseline serves as a reference point against which performance can be measured and earned value calculated.
We are used to managing projects under the NEC suite of contracts and using electronic document management systems and document control procedures to ensure robust control of all commercial and technical documentation generated throughout the course of the contract. We also recognise that changes can occur during delivery of projects and employ change control processes to ensure that the employer is fully aware of these changes and any impact they may have on the baseline.
Project Controls Consultancy
Key to successful delivery of any project is the ability to monitor / measure performance against the agreed baseline. A Mossop Engineering & Agricultural Services Ltd. have a great deal of experience in this arena and can offer support in development of baseline documentation and project controls processes. Principle areas of expertise include:
- Cost Estimation – we can aid in both development of estimates and provision of support in development of estimating processes. We can also undertake reviews, on a Subject Matter Expert (SME) basis, of estimates generated by others
- Planning – we have a great deal of experience in using both Microsoft Project and Primavera software to aid with the development and monitoring of baseline schedules. In addition, we can undertake assessments to determine the impact of change on outturn cost and completion
- Risk Management – we have the capability to help with determination of project risks and, via an approved sub-contractor, can undertake quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, using Safran Risk, to determine the potential impact of these risks arising on the projects outturn cost and completion date. We can also aid with determination of suitable contingency provision and in development of contingency management processes.
